There are so many guitar courses available online that it can be confusing when trying to decide which one to go with. I have had the Learn and Master Guitar course for about 4 weeks now and thought I would share my opinion of it. Learn and Master Guitar is not an online down loadable course. You will receive all the course materials in the mail, which I like because I do not always want to practice in front of the computer. There are twenty full length DVDs that contain the lessons. The DVDs are of very professional quality. From the very first step every thing is explained very clearly and gone over to ensure you completely understand what you need to know. The instructor and author of the course, Steve Krenz, is a studio and recording artist living in Nashville Tennessee, and he has a degree in music. His method of teaching makes it very easy to follow and understand what he is talking about. At the end of each lesson he goes over all the exercises you need to practice and he does them with you so you are never lost or confused.
All the lesson material is also in a printed lesson book. There are also the jam along CDs that follow the course which allows you to apply what you have learned by playing along with songs that are set up for what you have just learned. The lessons follow a step by step method of teaching all aspects of guitar playing, even learning and understanding to read music is explained very clearly. This is the one aspect of learning guitar that most online courses don't teach you. You gain a complete understanding of how the guitar works.
Even an intermediate guitar player will benefit greatly from this course. By about the fifth DVD I was finding stuff that I had never learned or understood. These lessons are like having a private guitar instructor at your disposal when ever you want. Also included with the course is access to the members only online forum, where you talk with other students and Steve himself, so you will never be lost or confused about anything in the course.
If you are serious about really learning how to play the guitar,not just learning some chords to play some songs, I would highly recommend Learn and Master Guitar. This is the only guitar course you will need. If you are a beginner, this course will probably take you over a year to get through, but you will be an accomplished guitar player. My guess would be that the lessons in this course would probably cost at least 2,000 dollars in private lessons.
