This will help keep your attention and when you are frustrated or bored you will quickly be able to move onto something else. Many guitarists let their strumming hand come naturally, and that is fine. However, sometimes lack of rhythm or fluidness in your strumming or picking hand can cause you to be less efficient with your fret hand or develop bad habits that will cause problems down the road.
