I don't know the exact numbers but I'd probably say that more people start out trying to learn to play acoustic guitar then electric. I say this from looking at the other guitar players I know, and thinking back to when I first started to learn.

1.) Instant Gratification: Again my opinions coming through here, but electric guitar is more of a lead instrument. Meaning that most people learn to play solos and in bands when they learn electric guitar. In contrast acoustic is a great instrument to jam with others, learn songs on your own, and play and sing at parties if you want. You get more gratification on your own and faster when learning acoustic guitar.
2.) Cost: Now this isn't directly related to learning to play the instrument but it should be considered. It's generally less expensive to purchase an acoustic then it is to get an electric. Not that the guitars themselves are cheaper, but the accessories required to use them properly are different.
With an acoustic all you need is the instrument, a case, and maybe a tuner and capo. How ever when purchasing an electric you need the guitar and same accessories, along with an amp and patch cord. The amp can be half the price of the guitar again depending on what you buy.
3.) Changing Instruments: Trust me when I say it's easier to switch from playing acoustic to electric guitar. I personally consider myself to be an acoustic player, but I do own an electric and do use it sometimes when jamming. You get more gratification on your own and faster when learning acoustic guitar.
2.) Cost: Now this isn't directly related to learning to play the instrument but it should be considered. It's generally less expensive to purchase an acoustic then it is to get an electric. Not that the guitars themselves are cheaper, but the accessories required to use them properly are different.
With an acoustic all you need is the instrument, a case, and maybe a tuner and capo. How ever when purchasing an electric you need the guitar and same accessories, along with an amp and patch cord. The amp can be half the price of the guitar again depending on what you buy.
3.) Changing Instruments: Trust me when I say it's easier to switch from playing acoustic to electric guitar. I personally consider myself to be an acoustic player, but I do own an electric and do use it sometimes when jamming. The modelling guitar amp enables the guitarist to create multiple sounds replicating the sound of a variety of different guitar amps. Guitar Tablature - Learn To Play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star With Guitar Tab
Even if you haven't played guitar tablature before you can impress or maybe shock your friends by playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Let's start playing guitar tab!
We will use guitar tabs so you will not need to read traditional sheet music. You will only use the thinnest strings on the guitar which also will make this song a little bit easier to play.
The string with the highest pitch is called the first string or E-string. Look at the following guitar tab staff:

In this guitar tab staff we have three lines representing the three first strings on your guitar. The top line represents the E-string on your guitar. That is the thinnest string or the string with the highest pitch.
When you look at a guitar tablature staff you will find numbers on it that tells you which frets to press down. Here is an example:

The number zero on the third line tells you to play the third string without pressing down a left hand finger. This note is a G. In other words, the number O represents an open string. Guitar Modes Explained
I've always believed that I didn't find guitar modes, they found me. Back when I first moved to the United States one of the my main goals was to take advantage of all the learning resources I could.
After realizing that I wanted to do more than just copy the licks of my favorite players, I searched on the net for some lessons and found some that I liked. That was ten years ago so I don't remember the name now.
One of the things they offered was to explain the modes in a new and easy way within the first 2 months. I didn't even know what guitar modes were but after searching the net for names like Phrygian and Locrian I was intrigued.
I have to admit that I'm more on the geeky side, so things to do with numbers, intervals, ratios that's all my game. But the fun of guitar modes is the subjective value that musicians place on the sounds and tonalities of different modes.
That Phrygian is kind of gypsy and dark, that the Mixolydian sounds funky, the Dorian jazzy and a little latin, I'll advise that if you don't enjoy that aspect you might have a hard time understanding modes.
After fully understanding what modes are and how to play them I've been perplexed by how many players find them so difficult to grasp. I've found monster players with technique for days that don't get what a Lydian mode is.
First of all get used to the notion that the word mode means what it says, 'a way of doing things'. Not a musical scale.
From a musical perspective though every single musical scale is a mode, I repeat, every single musical scale known to man, women and all other denominations is a mode. Because it's a way, or a mode, of arranging the notes.
