Jamplay Review - Teach Yourself Guitar and Have Fun Doing It

JamPlay is an exciting, interactive guitar learning membership site that will get you playing the guitar in no time. It combines video guitar lessons with social networking elements that make learning the guitar fun. You will find a wide variety of lessons on the site, taught by experienced guitar teachers. These lessons are suitable for learners of all levels, regardless if you are just beginning, or are already an advanced guitar player.

JamPlay categorizes it's lessons into three phases. Phase 1, is for guitar newbies. You will start from the very beginning and learn the essential guitar fundamentals. Along the way, you will pick up concepts like tuning your guitar, reading music, play guitar chords and much more. Phase 2 builds upon everything you learned in Phase 1, but focuses on different guitar genres and styles, plus some advanced guitar techniques. In Phase 3, you will finally start playing songs. Students have a tendency to skip to the song lessons first, but make sure you have the fundamentals down before you do.

Each instructor teaches their own sets of lessons, and you will find there is some overlap between them. This is intentional because JamPlay enables you to pick an instructor that fits your learning style. Think one teacher is too boring? That's OK, because there are several teachers to choose from. Overall JamPlay has 30 excellent teachers on its staff and they each do a nice job in general of teaching.

The community aspect is a very big part of JamPlay. You will find many social networking features on the site that mimic what you might find on a site like MySpace. For example, you can create your own profile, share your favorite music and photos, leave messages on your friends profile, etc. This makes JamPlay more alive then some other sites where you just learn on your own. The JamPlay forums are also a great source of information, and check out the live streams on the site that feature different instructors each day.

JamPlay's membership fee of $19.95 a month, is a little more expensive than some similar sites. However, it's still a reasonable price to pay for all the features you get. And it's certainly a lot cheaper than finding a private guitar teacher. JamPlay does offer quarterly and yearly subscription options that are cheaper on a per month basis as well.

If you are looking for an innovative way to learn guitar, then make sure to check out JamPlay. You will be introduced to a whole new community of like-minded people who all love playing the guitar. I guarantee you will learn a lot on the site and have fun doing it as well.
